The biggest mistake authors make when trying to get free publicity is pitching either themselves or their books.
Who said strike-three and you're out? Here's how I beat the odds of going from a POD published author to a Multi-Award Winning Author with good sales, successful book signings, and a high internet profile.
If your book marketing budget is tight (and even if it's not) you might want to consider some ideas that are powerful, and won't cost you as much as you think. Here are a few to consider!
Selling books online is a great way to start your online career. Many online businesses require a tremendous amount of computer proficiency and a substantial investment of both time and money. Selling books online is easy. Here are some of the main benefits of start a home based business of selling books online:
Here's how you can easily sell your books over the internet:

1. Build your own website. Make it easier for your target market to find you online by creating your own website where you can freely talk about your books. Choose a domain name that is highly descriptive and keyword-rich. Make sure that your site projects a professional image and make it highly informative. Keep in mind that your site is your image in the World Wide Web and that your prospects will gauge your expertise and credibility based on its appearance and content.
As a Christian author, you face the challenge of gaining maximum exposure for your book on a limited budget. Not to worry. Keep reading and I'll show you nine sure ways to quickly increase website traffic, maximize exposure and sell more books.
Do you think your book is going to be a best seller because it's awesome? Are you positive that everyone will want to buy a copy of your book? It might be bestseller material but if you don't market and promote it, no one is going to know about your great book. It takes a lot of time and effort to make a book a bestseller.
This article will provide you with easy, free, and cheap book marketing, promotion and publicity tips to get you headed in the right direction fast. You can have the best book in the world, but if no one knows about it, no one will buy it; publicity, promotion, marketing and a focus on selling more books should now be a big part of your daily life. Self publishers need to have a good marketing plan to sell books and should be written prior to writing your book and in place a year prior to publishing your book.
Many authors leave devising their book marketing plan until after their book is published. This is a grave mistake. How you plan to market your book will affect how you write and even publish your book.
I talk with pastors, organization leaders, and speakers about how they can expand their ministry or organization by developing a line of books and they are simply amazed. When we think of growing or developing our organization many times we think of TV, radio, more programs, etc. but many people just don't think of expanding or developing their organization by publishing a book. This is one of the most powerful ways of growing as an organization for several reasons:
How to get a book published is a question every author asks themselves. How difficult is it to get a book published by a commercial book publisher? Well the odds are better gambling in Las Vegas. It has been estimated that 25 million people in the United States consider themselves writers and only 5% have been published anywhere.
As a three-time published author and creative writing teacher I get asked a lot: "What is the secret to getting your book published?" Many of the interrogators are disappointed, some even disbelieving, when I tell them there is no secret. Getting published is about three key elements and none of them are a secret but all three play an important role. Book publishing requires a combination of luck, timing, and talent.
As the countdown to Christmas day continues, most everyone is naturally all wrapped up in preparing for the big day (and the eve of the big day and the day after the big day...).
It is one thing to read a daily devotional that someone else has written but it is another to write one for your self. Why bother spending the time since someone else does the work for you right? Wrong! There are many reasons to write devotionals and I'm going to share some with you right here.

The subject of writing seems like a funny choice for a blog on health. Never the less, I think it's appropriate as the 100th article on WLS Support Blog. I believe that new content is the key in making a blog vibrant and alive. It brings readers back, generates discussion and attracts new readers. To add content, some one must write.

Every Story Has Two Sides
is a coming of age series of short stories.  It illustrates lessons that take place in the life of many characters that touch on, or are part of, the life of Dallas Davis.  The short stories intertwine the complex parent-child, boyfriend-girlfriend and sinner-convert relationships as the reader witness the young adult coming of age experience.  Intended to provide lessons for both young adults and parents, Every Story Has Two Sides gives a unique perceptive that affords an opportunity for all to think outside of the box.  Poetic fluency coupled with scriptural references enhances the outside of the box experience where a different perspective of life's situations is exposed to the reader. The book welcomes multigenerational discussions to take place at the table in which God is the conversational centerpiece.
